Fondazione Memoria Deportazione establishes the "Roberto Camerani" Award for doctoral thesis on nazi deportation

The Fondazione Memoria Deportazione is pleased to announce the "Roberto Camerani" Award for doctoral thesis on the topic of nazi deportation. This award aims to recognize academic excellence and promote research in the field of deportation studies.

Doctoral theses approved from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2024 in Italian or European Union universities, which address the issue of deportation from a historical, sociological, philosophical, legal and literary point of view, are eligible. Original and unpublished works in Italian or English can be admitted. The prize cannot be awarded to doctoral theses that have already received prizes from public or private bodies.

The participation in this scholarship has no age limit. Candidates must send a printed copy of the doctoral thesis to the address: Fondazione Memoria Deportazione, Via Dogana 3, 20123 Milan, with the wording "Premio Roberto Camerani". Furthermore, they must send by email to segreteria@fondazionememoria.it the electronic file of the thesis in PDF or Word format, a summary of the contents within 2000 words highlighting the innovative contribution of the research, the doctoral certificate, the identity document and, possibly, a cover letter.

The prize consists of an amount of 1000 euros. The required documents must be presented by 15 January 2025. A commission of renowned scholars, selected by the Fondazione Memoria Deportazione, will evaluate the theses by 15 March 2025. The award ceremony will take place on 5 May 2025.
