The course focuses on the history of music from the mid-19th to the early 20th century, mainly through the study of individual composers' poetics. The focus is mainly on the following composers: Robert Schumann, Fryderyk Chopin, Richard Wagner, Franz Liszt, Claude Debussy, Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler and Alexander Scriabin.
