The course is an introduction to ethnological and general museology; it is based on international educational programmes in museology and »museum studies« with basical museum knowledge, education and skills.
The couse will cover different topics:
- Introduction in museology with history of museums and museums like institutions; ethnological and anthropological museums and museum collections; Slovenian achievements and museum's missions; museum critics.
- Organization of museums, functions and museum's management. Museum spaces, museum arrangements and museum equipment; contemporary and assistive technology in museums; accessibility of museums.
- Museum objects and museum collections, documentations, collections research; scientific activity in museums (ethnology and anthropology in museums); museum collections management.
- Contemporary approaches in museums: exhibitions, marketing, public relations and adience developments, museum professionalism and museum ethic; museum legislation, cultural and education activity of museums; inklusion, collaboration and participation of heritage communities and heritage holders; repatriation and restitution of cultural artifacst; museum and ecology and sustainable development.
