The course provides
- an introduction to the history of theatre and drama,
- a survey of the basics of drama theory and
- a critical survey and a historical outline of various genres and types of drama as they evolved in Europe and Britain over the course of the last centuries, starting with ancient Greek drama in Europe and with Medieval English drama in Britain all the way up to the present.
